About the Festival
This event
is run by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema as an opportunity for
filmmakers to focus on a genre of film that can be
intelligent, humorous, and completely disgusting all at
once. This festival is a venue to get together with
like-minded aficionados of the walking dead and to
celebrate a genre that has taught us all we need to know
about what to do (heaven forbid) in the event of a zombie
attack.
The first annual Dismember the Alamo Zombie Film Festival
will be held at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Lake Creek
location in Austin, Texas in late October, 2007. The Alamo
Drafthouse is home to a staff who have their degrees from
Professor Joe Bob Briggs and the school of off-beat cinema.
Dismember the Alamo will be a film festival showcasing the
best short films featuring human bodies devoid of their
souls. Select feature-length films will also be considered
for the festival. Every movie screened is guaranteed to
have at least one zombie.
