As if overturned accepted notions seep down to a biological level, the dead prey on the living without hesitation, a low-fi shock the film’s many imitators (even its fine sequels) haven't dulled. Shot in creepy black and white, the film’s technical proficiency is remarkable considering the production team’s lack of previous feature experience and budgetary constraints. A stock musical score (shared with more dubious drive-in titles like The Killer Shrews) was one result of those constraints—a disservice partially undone by this entry in composer P.
